I have always wanted to be a provider because I always wanted to help people in medicine. As I got older, I started looking at other ways of helping people, without having to go to medical school, like other science fields. Then, my mom got very sick and is currently on permanent disability as a result. I was very impressed by the level of care she received from her initial urgent care visit to her multiple hospital admissions. At that point, I decided to go back to school and pursue medicine again. It is my philosophy that every patient should have access to exceptional patient care. I believe that everybody is somebody. Therefore, I like patients to be treated with care and respect. I like for people to receive the kind of care I would expect to receive or expect for my family member to receive. Therefore, I like to provide that kind of care to patients. I am interested in adolescent health because I love educating young people about making healthy choices early. I also like other areas including diabetes management and weight loss because I like it when people can set goals and be able to achieve them. They start realizing how much control they have of some of their health conditions. Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family. It could include trips to the park, vacations or just cooking, as long as it is spending time with my family.
