Dr Catherine Wittgen provides a full spectrum of vascular interventions, including open and endovascular treatment for conditions such as carotid artery disease and aortic aneurysms. While she specializes in salvaging limbs, Dr Wittgen also offers wound care for patients requiring amputation. For more than 20 years, Dr Wittgen has participated in large clinical trials regarding medical management of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and gene therapy for patients with critical limb ischemia. Dr Wittgen is a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She is president of the medical staff at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.
