Who Are We

We are the spiritual descendants of the Pilgrims who came to North America on the Mayflower in 1620, seeking freedom to worship God.

Believing in the importance of education, they founded Harvard, Yale, and many other well-known universities. As champions of freedom, they were prominent signers of the Declaration of Independence and influential in drafting the Constitution of the United States.

They believed every Christian should be free to follow the dictates of their conscience, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Instead of subscribing to a creed, they entered into a covenant relationship with God and one another, promising to "Walk together in all His ways, according as He is pleased to reveal himself unto us in His blessed word of truth."

In matters spiritual, they regarded each congregation as a complete Church, independent, but also in fellowship with sister churches. Since they conceived of authority as vested in the congregation, they were known as Congregationalists.

Believes

We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness and love, and in Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Savior, Who for us and our salvation lived and died and rose again and lives evermore; and in the Holy Spirit, Who takes the things of Christ and reveals them to us, renewing, comforting, and inspiring our souls. We are united in striving to know the will of God as taught in the Holy Scriptures and in our purpose to walk in the ways of the Lord, made known to us.
