About the Church:

Syracuse Baptist Church began as a Bible study in 1975. Five couples got together in a home to study the Bible and learn more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. During that time they attended Indian Hills Community Church in Lincoln. Two years later, those couples felt led to start a Bible-preaching church in Syracuse, NE.

The first services of Syracuse Community Church were held in a home. Later the new church met at the Fair Center in Syracuse. In March of 1979 a building at 254 4th St. in Syracuse was purchased to be the permanent home of the young church.

In September of 1981, after much discussion and prayer, the Syracuse Community Church joined the Baptist General Conference. On March 23, 1982, the church was renamed Syracuse Baptist Church.
