About Us:

SPLT’s mission is to create a shortgrass prairie reserve network that enables native plant and animal communities to once again thrive, with minimal human intervention. We have a team of dedicated folks working to accomplish this mission. SPLT is streamlined, with just one staffperson. This keeps our overhead low and donations flowing to purchase and protect prairie land and wildlife.

We’ve enjoyed broad support over the years, with scientists, conservationists, and businesses all pitching in for the cause. Our members include people in rural and urban areas alike, throughout the Southern Plains. All of us are united in wanting to see a vibrant prairie landscape safeguarded, with all of the native flora and fauna restored to their rightful place.
