Mission
Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Stromsburg, Nebraska is a congregation of the Nebraska Synod of the E.L.C.A. (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).As the Apostles' Creed states: "We believe in the holy catholic and apostolic church, the communion of saints", and we are a part of that body.We are baptized into the family of God. As part of that family we grow through constant prayer and study of the Scriptures which we accept as God's Word and our guide for faith and practice in our daily lives.

We affirm that the Word and Sacraments are the means of grace and provide sustenance and direction for our lives.We believe strongly in Christian education for our youth, that they may at the time of their Affirmation of their Baptism, resolve to follow Christ as powerful witnesses to their faith in the world.

We are a worshiping community, confessing, praising and centered in the faithful proclamation of the Word of God.Because we are evangelical in our name and mission, we are a sent people, witnessing to the power of Jesus Christ to strengthen and influence us in our daily walk of discipleship. Thus, we seek out and welcome all who are searching for spiritual direction.
