About Us

John Wesley was the founder of the Methodist movement in England and had as his aim in the 1700’s to “reform the nation, particularly the church, and to spread scriptural holiness across the land.”

Benjamin Titus Roberts was the founder of the Free Methodist Church in New York and had as his aim the 1860’s to move Methodism forward by returning to the power and spirit in which it had started out. He deeply desired for the Free Methodist Church to be committed to classical Christian doctrines such as the infallibility of scripture, salvation by faith, and the deity of Jesus Christ, and challenged all who desired to become members to reach out the poor, to help end discrimination and racism, and to love their Lord with all of the heart and soul.

M. W. Sides was the founder of the Prescott Free Methodist Church in Arizona and had as his aim in 1937 to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Yavapai County. Originally his congregation met in a store building on West Gurley Street. Then in 1941 a large house at 146 N Mt Vernon Ave was purchased and served as both the parsonage and the church sanctuary for nine years. In 1950 a new sanctuary was built on the property and was used until the construction of out existing facility in 1987. Since the inception of the Prescott Free Methodist Church we have had fourteen senior pastors.
