About Us

Monticello's artistic community is about to feel the first effects of a big boost from some new best friends. A group of local professionals have come together with a common goal to develop and nurture the cultural climate in and around Monticello, and have set themselves to achieving that end with no small amount of enthusiasm. The Monticello Arts Counciloriginally the brainchild of Dan Wickman, a financial advisor; Jim Fleming, an attorney; and Lynne Dahl-Fleming, advertising designerwas officially launched in July with a nine-member board and a stated mission "to support and encourage the active expression of the arts within our community in the interest of enhancing cultural life for the Monticello area."
"We wanted to create an entity that would play not a supervisory role, but a supportive role for the arts in a broad variety of venues," said Jim Fleming.
