About Us:
Maple Crest Elementary School is located on the southern edge of Kokomo, Indiana. The school is part of the Kokomo-Center Township Consolidated School Corporation. Maple Crest School was originally built in two phases. It was built as a combined elementary and middle school. The elementary wing was built in 1956, was extensively remodeled in 1977, and had some minor remodeling and three room additions added in 1998.

The Board of Trustees authorized the reconfiguration of the school corporation at the beginning of the 1998-99 school year. Maple Crest Elementary and Middle School opened as two separate schools: Maple Crest Elementary School and Maple Crest Middle School.

Maple Crest Elementary School presently houses 219 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The Kokomo Area Special Education Co-Operative also houses a hearing impaired classroom and seriously emotionally handicapped classroom at the school.

Our curriculum, based on standards established by the state and district, grounds students in the basic skills and problem solving strategies that will enable them to meet a variety of academic requirements. Maple Crest teachers bring a wide range of instructional techniques and academic strengths to enhance the core educational program. The core program is supplemented with enrichment instruction for all students.
