Mission:

The League's mission is to encourage informed and active participation of citizens in government, work to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

The League identifies issues of concern, studies those issues, comes to consensus on defining and/or ways of improving an issue, and then follows through with action.

Action may include lobbying, monitoring, litigating or educating.

The League never opposes or supports candidates. It does take positions on ballot issues it has studied.
