About Us:

Jennies Branch Baptist Church was organized in 1895. It was located near a stream called Jennies Branch, which is how the church got it’s name. The land was donated by Mr. And Mrs. Conley Hewett. In 1933, the white wood-framed building was moved to a more centrally located piece of property, (our present location), donated by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rourk. The old church bell is displayed on our front lawn.

Sunday School has been held since 1898. Vacation Bible School since 1946 and our present WMU since 1949. Our choir was organized in 1968. In 1955, Mr. Warren Hewett, presented the church with an adjoining plot of land for a cemetery, which is now under perpetual care. In 1962, the church purchased a plot of land from E. V. and Esther Gore, for a parsonage. It was completed in 1963. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in January 1968 for a new church building. The first service was held on January 1, 1970. The present sanctuary was completed and the first service held on June 2, 1978. In May of 1995, the church purchased 4+ acres of land from Bricklanding Plantation for future expansion.
