About Us :

Harvest Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

We believe, teach, and confess the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the pure Word of God as it is faithfully confessed in the Holy Bible.

We preach Jesus Christ, true God and man, crucified for our sins, risen from the dead, the only Way to heaven.

We are evangelical, stressing the Gospel of justification by grace through faith alone, but also catholic, that is, our faith is one with the ancient Christian Church.

With the ancient Church and the Lutheran Reformation we believe that Christians must be concerned about what we believe as well as how we live.

Fourteen people attended the first worship service of Harvest Lutheran Church in November 1996 at the Anderson’s home. In May 1997 services began in the library of Neil Armstrong Elementary School. When the number of worshipers grew to 25 in October of 1997, services were moved to the gymnasium. The first retreat was held in the Fall of 1997 at Lutherwood.

Harvest moved to its current location in March of 1998 where the first service had 41 attendees. The Operating Board was formed and began meeting monthly in August 1998. The Harvest Lutheran Church charter was signed in November 1999. The Operating Board became the Church Council in 2003.

Harvest Lutheran Church was chartered in 1998 with Reverend Leonard Fiene as the first pastor of Harvest. After completing a one year vicarage at Harvest,
Reverend David Dehnke was called as pastor upon his graduation from the
Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2001.

As of April 2005, Harvest’s membership includes 129 baptized and 99 communicant. Sunday morning worship averages 55 and Sunday School averages 25.
