The mission of the GainesvilleR-VSchool District is:

"Quality Learning Today for Tomorrow", we will commit our financial, educational, and personnel resources to equip all students with the skills and knowledge necessary to develop to their fullest potential as self-motivated, life-long learners.

Our campus is approximately 1.5 miles east of Gainesville, Missouri, which is located in Southwest Missouri between highway 160 and highway 181.  The campus of 61 acres includes three school buildings, a bus garage, four storage buildings, and a greenhouse.  The high school was built in 1962, the junior high wing was added in 1971, the alternative building was purchased in 1999, and the new elementary school, located just south of the high school, was completed in 1995. 

The school district covers 339 square miles and serves several rural communities including Thornfield, Wasola, Tecumseh, and Pontiac.  The district is "fully accredited" and has A+ designation.
