First Baptist Church of San Luis Obispo (FBCSLO) is a firm Bible-based church that seeks to further the kingdom of God. Love is the imperative in building the bonds of concern and care. We have a great variety of people who call FBCSLO “home” because the Church family has a caring and nurturing spirit for seniors, growing families, and “families away from home” (college students).

Many ministries and programs are provided for all of the different ages and directions of life that our members represent. As a congregation called by God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and grounded in Holy Scripture, we believe in and proclaim Jesus Christ as our personal savior and ultimate authority in the Church and creation. FBCSLO carries out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to communicate Jesus’ message of love, hope and peace to everyone.

Our purpose, as a church, is to celebrate the living God, cultivate growth in Christ, care for one another in Christ, and communicate Christ to the world. We seek to lead each individual into a meaningful relationship with Christ and help him/her to mature and become the fully inspired person God desires.
