With the growth of Papillion, La Vista and Ralston, a meeting was held on March 9, 1961, at the Papillion High School to discuss the need for a new Presbyterian congregation in the area. So, on July 16, 1961, the first worship service led by Rev. Wesley M. Snodgrass was held at the Papillion American Legion Hall with 72 people in attendance. The size of the congregation doubled in less than a year. The church was officially organized on April 15,1962 with 140 charter members as Faith United Presbyterian Church.

On October 21, 1962, construction began on a new church building at 8100 Giles Road in La Vista, and was completed by early June, 1963. The church membership continued to grow. Rev. Snodgrass served Faith Church until August, 1971. On February 20, 1972, Rev. RichardRev. Dick Skelly H. Skelley became the new pastor. About four years later, the congregation approved preliminary plans for a new addition to the church structure. In October of 1979 the first Associate Pastor was called and in 1984 the first full time Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministries was hired.

On March 1, 1990, Rev. Neal C. Earley was called to serve asRev. Neal Earley Associate Pastor, and continues serving Faith Church. Dr. Skelley retired in October of 1992, and was called to be Faith Church's first Pastor Emeritus. Dr. Mark H. Miller was Dr. Mark H. Millercalled as Senior Pastor effective September 1, 1994, and is still serving the church today. Due to numerical growth, a third church building project was completed in the fall of 1995.

Today Faith Church is a worshiping, learning, equipping, witnessing and growing congregation. While church members have enjoyed a wonderful history, the church is excited about the present and future. The church vision statement, “Faith Presbyterian Church serves as a beacon of God’s light, affirming God’s love for all people, through his Son, Jesus the Christ,” guides the congregation’s ministries. Faith Church seeks to share God’s Word, meaningfully live out the Christian faith, be responsive to biblical truth, devoted to mission, and concerned for the spiritual growth of all people.

The Lord has blessed Faith Church with a loving and caring congregation, a strong and dedicated staff, and quality ministries and programs. We hope you can be a vital part of our future as the Lord leads us to new and exciting ministries.
