Epiphany Episcopal Church family exists to worship God, to work, pray, and give for, the spread of the Kingdom of God; and to bring people closer together by learning to accept each other as Christ lovingly accepts us all.

Epiphany Church is a parish of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA). The Episcopal Church is part of the 70 million member world-wide Anglican Communion. Epiphany Church is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, which serves Washington, D.C., Prince George’s County and Montgomery County in Maryland. The congregation is made up of over 115 households, with parishioners ranging in age from newborn to late nineties.

The Epiphany Church of Forestville, Md., was founded by The Rev. Henry J. Kersha, in 1862. He was the Rector of Trinity Church, Upper Marlboro, Md. , and is buried in the Cemetery there. In 1864, a small wooden building was erected, and the first confirmation service was held in November, 1869. The Chapel became Epiphany Church , an independent Parish, in 1871, but it took on the Addison Chapel at Seat Pleasant, Md. Addison Chapel became a Diocesan Mission in 1902, leaving Epiphany Church alone. In 1873, four acres of land were purchased on the west side and the rear of the Church, and the Rectory was built.
