About Desert Foothills Land Trust:

Desert Foothills Land Trust was formed in 1991 by citizens who were concerned about the pace of development and the loss of natural areas in their community. Led by a volunteer board of directors and a small staff, the Land Trust has become a stable and well-respected organization working to conserve the most sensitive and important open spaces in the communities of Anthem, Carefree, Cave Creek, Desert Hills, New River, North Phoenix and North Scottsdale - the Desert Foothills of Arizona. To date, we have conserved 680 acres on 23 preserves, many of which are open to the public for recreation and exploration. In 2010 the Land Trust was accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission - a mark of distinction in the land trust community. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our tax ID number is 86-0677917.
