La Vista's culture of envisioning its future has become a founding trademark for one of the youngest cities in the state. The city has developed a plan that has allowed for exponential and planned growth making it also one of the fastest growing cities in Nebraska.
History
La Vista is located in eastern Nebraska, in the metro Omaha area and contiguous to the cities of Omaha, Bellevue, Ralston and Papillion. The City of La Vista is the youngest City in Sarpy County incorporated in 1960, when 335 homes were built with a scenic view of the Big Papio Creek Basin. La Vista was named for its Spanish translation - The View.
