Boger City United Methodist Church

2320 East Main Street
704-735-7513

Boger City United Methodist Church began as Goodsonville Tabernacle as a mission of the Lincolnton Circuit. The first church building was built by land donated by the Boger and Crawford Manufacturing Company. The first minster appointed was the Rev. J.W. Combs.

In 1926 a masonry building was built to replace the wooden structure. Among the leaders of community who were instrumental in construction of the building were G.B Goodson, R.H Arney, W.B. Sigmon, Oscar Hauss and Adolphus O. Keever and the families of the congregation. In 1936 when the community became Boger City, the church became Boger City ME Church South. With the purchase of additional land under the leadership of Rev. G.W. Bumgarnder plans were made for a new church Building. The educational wing was completed in 1971. With the arrival of the Rev. Joe Ervin the new sanctuary was completed in April 1977. The Rev. Eric Reece joined our church in July of 2013.

The mission of Boger City United Methodist Church is to be the Church United in Discipleship to Love, Lead and Serve.
