The American Legion Post #241 was chartered to serve the community of Aurora and surrounding area. The post home is located on the corner of main street and 2nd avenue west. It is a full service post and offers membership to all eligible United States veterans and their families. With over 400 post, 175 auxiliary, and 50 Son’s of AML members, the post has a strong presence within the community and provides opportunities for the members and guests to utilize its wide-array of services/facilities (including a cozy lounge, a spacious banquet/dining room and catering service that is highly capable of catering any occasion). The post has charitable gambling (license A00130-001) with pull tab sales during lounge hours. Most of all, AML 241 offers a variety of social activities and adult/youth programs - all aimed at building a strong sense of community and Americanism. The post has an outstanding Color/Honor Guard that partakes in parades, military funerals and other community activities. We invite you to explore this web site – to learn how you can partake in, and contribute to, our efforts to continue to build a strong sense of community and Americanism for the benefit of all. We are proud of our Post, it’s programs and the many people who contribute their time to make it what it is.
