Come one, come all to the Home Grown Farmers Market at the TN Soybean Festival, happening on Saturday, September 2nd! Get ready for a delightful morning from 8:00 am to noon at the Martin Farmers Market, nestled in Historic Downtown Martin, TN. The bounty of local produce awaits you, all lovingly grown within 50 miles of Martin. But that’s not all – groove to the rhythm of live music, and prepare to be amazed by the guest vendors from Coastal Connection Seafood, bringing a taste of the ocean to this delightful inland gathering. And for the craft enthusiasts, local artisans will be showcasing their creations, offering a unique shopping experience. Join us for a day of farm-fresh fun and community spirit!

Awards Ceremony: 3:00 p.m
Join us on Sunday, September 3, for the 9th Annual Guitar As Art Contest Exhibition at the Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building, UT-Martin. From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, witness a display of artistically altered guitars using various 2D media methods. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 3:00 pm, where exceptional talents will be recognized. Delight in the harmonious blend of refreshments and live music as you immerse yourself in this unique artistic experience. Can’t make it on the event day? Don’t worry, the Guitar as Art Exhibit will be open to the public from Tuesday, September 5, to Saturday, September 30, between 1:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. Mark your calendars for this celebration of creativity and passion.

From Tuesday to Saturday, September 5th to September 9th, the Midway is the place to be in Downtown Martin. Grab your wristbands or individual ride tickets at the Midway box office and get ready for non-stop fun! Don’t miss out on the fantastic armband special on select days, where you can enjoy unlimited rides. Whether you’re an adrenaline seeker or a foodie on the hunt for delicious treats, we’ve got it all. Bring your friends and family, and let’s make this a soybean celebration to remember! 10:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m: Soybean Canasta Tournament at The Martin Gateway Center
Come and join the fun at the Gateway Tournament series! First up on September 5th, we have the Canasta card tournament at The Martin Gateway Center, starting at 10:00 a.m. It’s open to the public, so bring your friends and family! Be sure to arrive by 9:45 a.m to register and secure your spot. Don’t miss out on the chance to win door prizes and enjoy a delicious free lunch. On Thursday, September 7th, the Trivia tournament will be at the same location and time, with the same exciting perks for attendees. And mark your calendars for Friday, September 8th, as we’ll be hosting Big Bingo, another public event, with registration at 9:45 a.m. Join us at The Martin Gateway Center for a fantastic time with free lunch, door prizes, and lots of entertainment. 3:00 p.m - 5:30 p.m: Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest
Join us for an afternoon of creativity and colors at our Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest on Tuesday, September 5th, from 3 - 5:30 p.m. Registration begins at 3 p.m at the CE Weldon Building. This event is entirely free for all ages, with divisions for Children, Teens, Adults, and Families to showcase their artistic talents. Our panel of judges will be on hand to admire the vibrant masterpieces, and the winners will be revealed on the Tennessee Soybean Festival’s Facebook and Instagram pages the next day. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, available at the library front desk. For any further information, call 731-587-3148. Don’t miss this chance to make the sidewalks come alive with your imagination!

6:30 p.m: Soybean Parade
Get ready to experience the vibrant colors, joyful cheers, and captivating floats at the TN Soybean Festival Parade on Tuesday, September 5th! Starting at 6:30 p.m, the parade will make its way through University Street and Lindell Street, bringing a spectacle of community spirit to Historic Downtown Martin. This year, the parade will be even more special with the Turner Family as the Grand Marshal, leading the procession with pride and excitement. The Turner Family’s contributions to the community make them the perfect choice to represent the essence of togetherness and celebration at the festival.

Rules and Regulations:
Deadline to drop off all artwork and photos: Wednesday, Sept. 6, by 5:00pm at Martin City Hall.

There will be 3 groups of competition based on grade for 2023/2024 school year:
Grade K-2nd Grade 3rd -5th Grade 6th-8th
Each student may submit a one piece of artwork
All art can be painted or drawn on paper or canvas no larger than 8.5×11 inches.
Each entry Must have the following information clearly written or typed on the back:
Student’s name, parent/guardian’s phone number, school, and current grade.
Photos of the submissions will be displayed on the Weakley County Young
Professionals Facebook Page.
The winners will be contacted by Friday, Sept. 8.
After the festival, submissions may be picked up at Martin City Hall. Any items not
picked up after October 1st will be thrown away.
The Tennessee Soybean Festival is not responsible for damage or loss of submitted artwork or photos.
Awards will be given for each age group as follows: 1st Place- $30
