Stepping into the Craft - Summers in Seagrove!

This special weekend in August is a great time to head over to Seagrove NC, the Pottery Capital of the USA! Several shops are showing "fresh pots" and putting on demonstrations and special treats for visitors. Wander through our lovely country side and explore the area that is home to some of North Carolina’s greatest potters. Stop by the studios and see the behind the scenes workings of what it takes to create such unique ceramic works of art.

This month you'll find a variety of options - from fresh pots and kiln openings to throwing and handbuilding demos to tea tastings and pastries!

Windsong Pottery Kiln Opening

Windsong Pottery will be open with fresh new pots come out and enjoy the country ride to our studio.

Windsong Pottery, featuring the work of Matthew and Margie Nance is specializing in pots for cooking, dining and entertaining. So come out to see us and enjoy the country side and take home a piece of Windsong Pottery (featuring Floating Blue and Rainbow glazes).

Tea with Seagrove Potters
10am-5pm Saturday, August 12

Spend the day cruising the beautiful Seagrove countryside, discovering spectacular handmade pottery and sampling teas and pastries along the way. Sample iced tea from Carriage House Tea, pastries from the Table Farmhouse Bakery and Holly Hill Farm, and homemade treats at Blue Hen Pottery, Dean & Martin Pottery, Eck McCanless Pottery, From the Ground Up, Red Hare Pottery and Thomas Pottery. Each shop has its own unique style of pottery, and will serve different flavors of tea and snacks. Shops will feature everything you need to serve tea. Find your favorite pitchers, tumblers, teapots and teacups. Shops are open from 10-5 and are located along NC Pottery Highway 705 and adjoining roads. Pick up a tea brochure and map at your first stop. Free event.

Fun at The Triangle Studio!

This 2nd Saturday in August features artist Erin Younge with new work available after the summer wood kiln firings. Erin will be demonstrating on the wheel and making refreshments for you to enjoy.

Our guest Asheboro Popcorn Company will have samples of their delicious popcorn available.

"It all starts with Jeff creating a blank canvas for Michèle to carve! We are open Friday, Saturday, and Monday 10-5. Sunday 12-5. Our gallery is inside our studio, where we make the pots. Stop in this weekend for a pottery demonstration."
