The Annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival has quickly become one of the largest educational events in Nevada.  The Festival draws thousands of participants over nine jam-packed days of FREE events all across the Las Vegas Valley.  Through engaging and educational programming, the Festival strives to spark curiosity and highlight the amazing science, technology, engineering, and math taking place right here in our community. The Festival makes science fun, accessible, and engaging for everyone -  kids, families and adults.  With over 100 organizations participating, there is something for everyone!

Friday, April 26, 2024

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Future Rebels in STEM Day

Future scientists are invited for a full day STEM experience at UNLV! Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities facilitated by current UNLV STEM students, faculty, and community partners. Students will also enjoy lunch and a STEM movie at Galaxy Theatres!

Drop off at 8:00am, Pick up at 5:00pm

For 3rd grade and above only

Limited capacity, must register in advance to attend

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Nursing and Pharmacy Studies at Roseman University

Are you interested in being a nurse or pharmacist?  Join Roseman University for an interactive event with the College of Nursing and the College of Pharmacy where you will learn about their programs and get hands-on experience in their simulation labs.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: BioBlast - Birds and More!

Presented by Clark County Wetlands Park and Commissioner Jim Gibson. Visit science stations to learn about the plant and animal species of Wetlands Park and southern Nevada, and get help identifying them! Join us to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day and participate in fun games and activities.  All activities are free. No advanced registration required.

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Native Habitat Seed Collection

Join us for a fun morning of harvesting native seeds from our pollinator habitat on the corner of Bruce and Owens. Your help in collecting seeds will enable us to grow more plants for future native gardens and allow us to share seeds with the community.

Registered volunteers will receive a meeting spot map and event details a few days before the event. All ages are welcome; however, minors without an adult guardian present will need to bring a signed waiver.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Robots Saving Lives

Come see the latest innovations in surgical care thanks to robots!  Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center invites you for an interactive experience to explore the latest surgical robots, get hands-on demonstrations and learn how science is used every day in the hospital. Plus, younger kids can participate in our teddy bear clinic learning to perform ‘surgery’ and care for their stuffed animals.

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Ologist Night at the Natural History Museum

Budding science lovers will get an opportunity to meet real scientists from many different fields. Join us to see what they do in their particular field of science, ask these scientists questions, and get your hands on real fossils, artifacts, and live animals.

Dreaming of becoming a doctor when you grow up? Join us for an interactive presentation with the Medical Resident Team at Southern Hills Hospital. Learn how to “stop the bleed,” practice on an ultrasound machine, and speak with actual medical residents to learn all about their journey to achieving a career in medicine.

DRI and the Atomic Museum welcome the community to explore science through the lens of Star Wars. This FREE event includes DRI Science Lab tours, hands-on science activities for all ages, photo ops with Star Wars characters, food trucks, and exciting science entertainment.
