Parks and Planning Updates:

Blackstone Park Project Updates:

Blackstone Park is in the final months of construction.

Infrastructure of the park is complete and the restroom is placed. Currently, the park entrance pilasters, concrete curbs, walkway and fencing are being installed.

The picnic shelter and playground equipment are on-site and currently being installed.

The 13.9-acre park has been designed with a nature theme to highlight the native wildlife and plants endemic to the area, as well as the open space and preserved wetlands at the park.

A highlight of the park is a paved path that runs throughout and is accessible at both entrance points to the park.

The park is located at 1881 Blackstone Pkwy.

Stay on the lookout! When the park is complete, a Grand Opening will be announced publicly.

Utility Corridor Multi-Use Trail Project Updates:

Survey and engineering work is taking place now to produce construction drawings for trail improvements on the Utility Corridor.

The trail runs from El Dorado Hills Boulevard west with two road crossings of Hensley Circle East and West to Beatty Drive with connectivity to bikeways and walkways on each trail end.

Trail improvements will include grading and realignment of trail to reduce steepness and improve safety, resurfacing portions of existing road/trail and top with base rock, a pedestrian/bike bridge over a stream channel, log fencing or other barriers to “direct” pedestrians and bikers, and preservation of the existing trails at Hensley Circle, and two formalized road crossings (as determined in Coordination with county standards).

Next steps: RFP for Construction and then construction.

The District’s Board of Directors is considering the formation of a new LLAD Advisory Committee for Lighting and Landscaping Assessment Districts (LLADs). This Committee will be comprised of a variety of residents from different LLADs. They will be charged with reviewing budgeted vs actual costs, discussing issues with underfunded LLADs, and become more informed with LLAD financials and intricate operations. This will allow them to serve as a liaison between the LLAD Community and the Board of Directors.

The first step in this process is to establish an interest list. Once this is established, those that are interested will be invited to a workshop held on November 16th at 6pm to discuss the intent of the Advisory Committee, the steps that need to be taken to become a member of the Advisory Committee, and any other pertinent information that the applicants needs to make an informed decision on whether they want to move forward with the process. If you are interested or have questions, please send an email to Teri Gotro, Director of Administration & Finance, at [email protected]
