Mayor Dan Rife, City Administrator Greg Dagnan, and City Tourism Director Katie Fields joined Julie Reams, President of the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, for a “State of the City” presentation to a sizeable crowd at Memorial Hall on Friday, November 4th, 2022. Members of the City Council were also present including Mark Elliff, Ceri Otero, Robin Blair, Ed Hardesty, and Alan Snow.

Reams welcomed everyone to the meeting after a lengthy period of socializing, and introduced Mayor Rife, who discussed the City’s Mission and the City’s structure as outlined by the City Charter. He then introduced Dagnan, who led listeners through a 25-minute tour of budgets, income sources, departments, projects completed, and more… all of which can be seen in the video below and this PowerPoint presentation.

He introduced the City’s Tourism Director, Katie Fields, who gave an overview of the new Tourism website, ExperienceCarthageMO.com, and talked about some events of the year and plans for 2023.

Dagnan and Rife finished by tag-teaming some Public Works statistics and exciting future plans for the Myers Park area, all parcels of which are now under contract or already sold to prospective businesses or individuals.

Reams then closed the meeting, reminding all in attendance of the importance of supporting our community and our local businesses. Attendees were then invited to ask questions of City Officials & Staff Members, and many productive discussions were observed.
