NATIONAL DAYS IN JULY
JULY 19th
National Words with Friends Day -
Since before the invention of the dictionary, people have challenged each other with word puzzles and games. The day honors the intellectual spirit and camaraderie that comes with playing word games.
National Flitch Day -
National Flitch Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated annually on July 19. It dates back to an ancient custom that saw married couples earning a flitch of bacon by proving the strength of their union after a year. A Flitch is half a pig cut sideways.
National Stick Out Your Tongue Day -
We've all stuck our tongues out at people in playful banter.
While many cultures find it rude and childish,
did you know that the gesture of sticking out your tongue
is seen as a polite greeting in Tibet?
National Daiquiri Day
