COUNCIL MEETING

The meeting began with a moment of silence for
resident Ms. Lucy Villagram, mother of Kathy Anderson, resident Mr. Don Golden,
and Independence Fire Fighter Harold (Gene) Eddins.

Mr. Don Ackerman led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by roll call. Present: Ray, Mikulich, Hazelrigg, quorum established.

The mayor opened Public Hearing #1 with, "Mr. Cary, is there any new evidence?" Mr. Cary, "No, Mayor. There is no new evidence." The mayor closed Public Hearing #1 and opened Public Hearing #2 with, "Mr. Cary is there any new evidence?" Mr. Cary, "No, Mayor. There is no new evidence." The mayor closed the Public Hearing and began recognizing individuals with Certificates of Appreciation.

Ms. Kacy Vance was recognized for her work
in Public Works and her volunteer work in the City.
Six individuals from the group, Built For Jesus
received  Certificates for their stellar work
on 100 S. Hedges.
The Mayor recognized Mr. Pat Casey and Mr. Jacob Ferrell for responding to a grass fire in the Fort Osage district.

Seeing no further business from the floor, the Mayor presented 8 ordinances to the Aldermen.
All passed unanimously by votes of 3-0.
#4587 Ordinance authorizing payment to Holliday Sand and Gravel for purchase of deicing salt to be used in the City of Sugar Creek.
#4588 Ordinance authorizing payment to KJ Remodeling LLC & Crete Construction for repairs at Lexington and Sugar Creek Blvd in the City of Sugar Creek.
#4589 Ordinance authorizing payment to Ace Pipe Cleaning Inc for repair of sanitary sewer in various locations in the City of Sugar Creek.
#4590 Ordinance approving the purchase, replacement, and installation of 45 window units at the City Hall Building in the City of Sugar Creek.
#4591 Ordinance authorizing payment to Asphaltic Surfaces LLC for repairs to various locations in the City of Sugar Creek.
#4592 Ordinance amending sections 36-67 and 36-68 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sugar Creek, Missouri to address roll-off or dumpster regulations.
#4593 Ordinance revising and amending Chapter 48 of the City’s Ordinances regarding home occupations.
#4594 Ordinance approving a Special Sign Application for 11622 E. US 24 Highway.
The Mayor asked for a motion and second to consider approval of Ms. Alice Moroso to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The request was approved unanimously.
