The Mayor asked for a moment of silence
for NKC Police Officer Daniel Vasquez,
Barbara Hart and Sugar Creek resident Kathie Cook.
Chief Soule led the assembly in the Pledge.
Roll call established a quorum but Alderman Ray
was absent from the meeting due to prior commitments.
The Consent Agenda was passed unanimously
by a vote of 3-0.
In Business from the floor, Kenneth Dameron
had a question about his utility bills.
There were five bills presented to the Aldermen.
All five passed unanimously by a vote of 3-0.
#4552 approved the transfer of funds
from the Parks and Rec Sales Tax Fund
to the General Fund for reimbursement
of P&R expenditures.
#4553 approved bid and authorized payment
to Superior Electric to install a new light pole
after a vehicular accident in December, 2021.
#4554 approved bid and authorized payment to
Beemer Construction to replace
3 fire hydrants in the City.
#4555 approved bid and authorized payment to
Wil-Pave Asphalt and Concrete for repair
and replacement of manhole covers in the City.
#4556 amends wording in Chapter 32
of Sugar Creek City Codes.

Buffalo Soldiers Day -
Congress established the first peacetime
all-black regiments in the regular U.S. Army
after the end of the Civil War.
The Buffalo Soldiers (one of many African-American
regiments raised during the Civil War)
were the first instituted as frontier regiments
and had the lowest desertion rates in the Army.
They also served with valor in the Spanish-American War.
